Meet Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Hood Herbal Healer, LLC, Red.

North Carolina native, Red, graduated from Hampton University with a Bachelors of Science degree in 2019. She studied Biology Pre-Med in hopes of one day attending medical school. After working as a tech in the Emergency Department for some time, she learned that medical school wasn’t her life’s purpose. Red then decided to look at medicine from a holistic standpoint, focusing on how to heal the human body with Mother Earth’s resources. After experiencing an all-natural at-home water birth with her first born son, Six, she began studying African American herbalism, human sciences including birth and postpartum Doula support, phytopharmacology, African spirituality, and much more! As a perpetual student, Red is cultivating a Black-Owned Apothecary to hold space for holistic healing through herbal education, natural birth support, community outreach and advocacy for Black wellness.

Red and her team look forward to serving the N.C. community and expanding globally in the near future to intently promote holistic eudaimonia by embodying the power of plants, herbs, and herbal medicine.
